Jack Daniel's
Distillery, Lynchburg, TN
The Jack Daniel Distillery – the oldest registered distillery in the
U.S. – is where it all happens. It’s where Mr. Jack first crafted the
recipe for Old No. 7. It’s where the pure, iron-free cave spring water
flows. And it’s where every drop of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Sippin’
Whiskey is still made today.
The James K. Polk
Home, Columbia, TN
The only
remaining residence of James K. Polk except the White House, the ca.
1816 home was built by Polk’s father Samuel, and is one of the best
examples of Federal style architecture remaining in Tennessee. Today it
houses over 1000 objects that belonged to President and Mrs. Polk
including furniture, paintings, china, and silver.
The Hermitage,
Nashville, TN
Andrew
Jackson always welcomed visitors to his home. Since The Hermitage
opened as a museum in 1889 over 15 million people have crossed
its
threshold to see for themselves the home of the seventh President of
the United States.
Civil War
Battlefields in Tennessee
A
number of battles were fought on Tennessee soil during the Civil War,
and many of these sites are preserved for posterity. A number
of
the battlefields are within an hour's drive of the Inn.

The Grand Old Opry,
Nashville, TN
What began as a simple
radio broadcast in 1925 is today a live-entertainment phenomenon.
Dedicated to honoring country music’s rich history and dynamic present,
the Grand Ole Opry showcases a mix of country legends and the
contemporary chart- toppers who have followed in their footsteps.
The Tennessee
Aquarium, Chatanooga, TN
The Tennessee Aquarium's River Journey and Ocean Journey buildings are
home
to more than 12,000 animals including fish, reptiles, amphibians,
invertebrates, birds, butterflies and more set around one of the
largest inland aquariums in the U.S.

Golf Courses
The Tennessee Golf Trail and the
Bear Trace
The twelve golf courses in the Tennessee State Park system are designed
to feature Tennessee's scenic and historic beauty, from mountain
heights to civil war sites. Four featured golf courses
designed by Jack Nicklaus are of particular note. Called the
Bear Trace, these feature exhilarting playability layouts providing
golfers thorughout North America the opportunity to play championship
gold at truly affordable rates.
The Bear Trace course closest to to the Inn, Bear Trace at Tims Ford
Lake, is less than an hours travel away and situated in rustic
surroundings near a deep water lake with excellent fishing.
The
Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail
The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail is the largest golf course
construction project ever attempted. The New York Times calls
it "...some of the best public golf on Earth."
At
the northern terminus of the Trail in Huntsville, AL is Hampton Cove, a
54-hole facility with terrain that drastically changes from one side of
the property to the other. The Highlands Course, which
emulates a
Scottish Links, is one of the gems of the Trail. Thousands of
Japanese black pines, oaks, dogwoods, and crepe myrtles have been
planted to enhance such features as an old mule barn beside the fifth
hole.
Completely opposite is the River Course, the only Robert
Trent Jones layout without a single bunker. The enormous
black
oak behind the 18th green is reputed to be the third oldest in the
state at 250 years.
